Places we love

To us, Paris is magical!

Our concierge service has expert knowledge of the area around the Hôtel Sainte-Beuve and is able to recommend some of the places we love.

Nearby restaurants, bars and boutiques have been tested by our team who will be delighted to tell you which places should not be missed during your stay.

  • Our favourite bistro: Le Timbre (bistro - Michelin "Bibendum") on the same street as the hotel

  • Fish: La Mercerie Mulot (fish and seafood bistro), Le Dome (brasserie)

  • A Parisian brasserie: La Rotonde (brasserie), La Closerie des Lilas (brasserie)

  • A very good restaurant where you can treat yourself: Toyo (restaurant), Les Fables de la Fontaine (fish restaurant - 1 Michelin star), El Fogon (Spanish restaurant - 1 Michelin star)

  • An excellent restaurant for a special occasion: Alain Passard’s L’Arpège (3 Michelin stars), Thierry Marx’s Le Sur Mesure (2 Michelin stars)

  • A nice little Italian: La Tavola di Gio (Italian bistro)

  • A modern atmosphere to dance in: L’Alcazar, Le Kong

  • A wine bar: La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels (modern wine bar)

  • A truly original restaurant: El Vino (2 Michelin stars)

  • A nice, easy restaurant for lunch: Café Vavin, Chez Fernand, Pottoka, Art Macaron

Le Bon Marché

The very first Parisian department store!

On the border of the 6th and 7th arrondissements, a stone’s throw from Saint-Germain des Près, Le Bon Marché single-handedly reflects the spirit of the Left Bank: openness to the world, a taste for culture and the arts, tradition that is constantly revisited...
In this elegant, refined shop the products are meticulously arranged in different themed areas. Creams, beauty products and other body treatments can be found in “Le Théâtre de la Beauté”. Ready-to-wear, shoes and fashion accessories (including a collection of very beautiful vintage watches) are found in “L’Appartement de Mode”. Finally, “La Grande Epicerie de Paris” is a veritable luxury supermarket offering dishes and delicacies from all over the world.

Dandy parisien et Divine parisienne

Dandy Parisien and Divine Parisienne are two neighbouring boutiques a stone’s throw from Rue Princesse at 19, Rue Guisarde.

Dandy Parisien
The kingdom of suits, shirts and other precious accessories, Paul Smith for the most part, which you will not find at the official boutique on Boulevard Raspail or at Le Bon Marché, or anywhere else. Franck, the owner of this secret place, is a dandy himself. He will always welcome you with extreme kindness and a great deal of class, and will always give you good, sound advice. According to Franck, we must not make the mistake of becoming a caricature, wearing an outfit or a uniform. Not standing out while at the same time stating one’s individuality and being oneself is a subtlety of which he has become one of the main advocates. A discreet, chic, sexy dandy, the “Dandy Parisien” man has style, natural class and a strong personality that is completed and reflected in his clothing.

Divine Parisienne
Upon crossing the threshold you will enter a luxurious yet intimate world of femininity, like a dressing room that you will never want to leave.
It is a refined, welcoming place offering a blend of all the current major fashion brands. These include great designers like PAUL SMITH and PATRIZIA PEPE, but also the designers of tomorrow such as LOU DE BEAUREGARD and HOTEL PARTICULIER.
You will be welcomed by a professional, on-trend team who will help you to find just what you are looking for.
All of Paris’ chic, glamorous fashion is represented in this boutique.

Created in 1945, Carven was later re-launched by the talented Guillaume Henry.
It has retained the heritage of the Couture years with a precise idea of how the garment should be and which materials should be used. With style, femininity and simplicity, far removed from any signs of ostentation, today Carven offers inspired, accessible ready-to-wear clothing.
The first Carven boutique was opened in Saint-German-des-Prés. The district, with its rich history and famous personalities, therefore counts one more pretty Parisian among its neighbours. This little place resembling an apartment plays host to Guillaume Henry’s creations in a simple, tasteful manner. Its visual identity was entrusted to Eric Chevallier who was responsible for the image of the Colette shop.
